You may be wondering, why did we choose Port Douglas, a small town off the beaten path in northern Queensland?
Port Douglas is the only place in the world where the rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef - there are 10 ecosystems within a 250 kilometer radius, making this a haven for Australian wildlife.
We were hoping to see some of Australia's native species (which we did) but this tour provided so much more than what we had anticipated.
Spent some quality one on one time with Emmy-Lou the Emu
Ate Traditional Damper with coffee and tea at Linda's
Golf Carted around with Eastern Grey Kangaroos
Fed and Pet Wallabies at Granite Gorge
Enjoyed a Lake Barrie Lunch and Cruise
Photographed Long-Fin Eels and Snapping Turtles
And our grand finale was getting a glimpse of a duck billed platypus!
This tour went over and beyond in every way. Our expectations were completely exceeded and we definitely plan on returning one day!
